Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is a dance between mum and baby. Using a hands-off, evidence-based approach to breastfeeding, Antenatal education can prepare you for the first breastfeed, teach you how to hand express, and you can debrief from past breastfeeding experiences. Birthing Mum also provide troubleshooting for breastfeeding difficulties after birth.

Antenatal breastfeeding education is important to help mum build confidence and get off to a good start to breastfeeding, reducing the risk of nipple damage and ensuring good attachment and supply.

This also gives mum a greater understanding of normal newborn breastfeeding behaviours and feeding cues.
